WHAT IT IS

What Is Tirzepatide?

After you eat, your gut releases two hormones: GLP-1, which signals fullness to the brain and slows how quickly the stomach empties, and GIP, which helps your body release insulin in response to the meal. In their natural form, both are broken down within minutes. Tirzepatide is a dual agonist: a single molecule built to act on both receptors and to last, so both signals persist between meals. Semaglutide acts on GLP-1 alone; tirzepatide acts on both.

Tirzepatide is prescribed and compounded for you by a licensed pharmacy, not manufactured as a branded product. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved and are not reviewed by the FDA for safety, effectiveness, or quality.

STUDIED FOR

What the Research Shows

Tirzepatide works on two hormones your gut releases after every meal, GLP-1 and GIP. Here's what research shows about those signals, and about what losing weight does for your health.

TWO SIGNALS

30%

In a study of 18 healthy men, blocking GIP cut the insulin released after a glucose drink by 30%, compared with 8.6% when GLP-1 was blocked. Tirzepatide acts on both hormones.1

METABOLIC HEALTH

58% lower risk

In a landmark study of 3,234 adults with prediabetes, a program aiming for 7% weight loss cut the risk of developing type 2 diabetes by 58%.2

THE LONG GAME

A year or more

After weight loss, the body's hunger hormones stay elevated for at least a year, pushing appetite back up. Lasting results take more than willpower.3

SAFETY, PLAINLY

SAFETY, PLAINLY

  • Common side effects

Most commonly gastrointestinal: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation and abdominal discomfort, often strongest after the first dose and after dose changes. Injection-site irritation and fatigue can also occur. Tell your provider what you are experiencing; the schedule can be adjusted.

  • Interactions

This medication slows gastric emptying, which can affect how other oral medications are absorbed. Tell your provider about everything you take, including insulin or other diabetes medications, since dose changes may be needed.

  • Who should not use tirzepatide

Not for you if you are pregnant, nursing, or trying to conceive, or if you have a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome type 2. Tell your provider about pancreatitis, gallbladder disease, or diabetic retinopathy.

  • When to contact your provider

Anytime through your account. Promptly for severe or persistent abdominal pain, persistent vomiting, signs of an allergic reaction, or anything that doesn't feel right.

How it works

What Happens After You Start

  1. Your Assessment Goes to a Licensed Provider

A few minutes of questions about your health, history, and goals, no appointment required. The provider reviews your answers against what you've requested, and nothing is compounded or shipped until they approve.

  2. Your Prescription Ships After Approval

Compounded for you by a licensed pharmacy, then shipped to your door with everything you need to start: your medication, supplies, and instructions for use.

  3. Continuous Provider Care

Your prescription isn't a one-off purchase. At each check-in or renewal, your provider revisits what you're prescribed.
